Best Theatre in Hampshire!
Recently our CEO picked up our Muddy Stilettos award for Best Theatre in Hampshire.
The online lifestyle site opened nominations for the awards earlier this year and in Hampshire the public nominated Theatre Royal Winchester among others. In May the heritage theatre was named a finalist and after the public vote it picked up the title of Best Theatre last month.
More recently there was a winner’s reception at New Place Hotel, in Southampton and Deryck Newland, CEO of Play to the Crowd (responsible for the theatre, Hat Fair and Playmakers) attended the event to pick up our Winner Certificate and Rosette and to meet other local business winners and the Muddy Stilettos team.
We want to thank everyone who nominated and voted and look forward to welcoming audiences over the summer to enjoy community performances Hairspray, Terra Nova and The Doorman; as well as to the new autumn season, which includes comedy from well-known faces, captivating drama and popular children’s theatre.
The awards are free for all businesses and Muddy Stilettos has reported that, nine years on from the first awards, this year’s awards were the biggest to date – with 75,000 local businesses across all 28 counties covered by the site, nominated and 765,000 votes cast.
