Cast Announced for Panto Mother Goose
We’re thrilled to reveal the cast for this year’s family pantomime, Mother Goose, featuring returning favourites and exciting new talent!
Leading the cast is Julian Eardley, our beloved panto dame, who will portray the title role of Mother Goose. This marks Julian’s 15th panto with Theatre Royal Winchester. Audiences will recognise him from past performances, including last year’s Cinderella as Fairy Kind Heart, and his memorable role as the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz (2022).
Joining Julian is Libby Gore, who returns for her fifth panto, this year playing Fairy Virtue. She previously wowed audiences in Aladdin (2021) and The Wizard of Oz (2022), and has also performed in the West End. Brontë Alice-Tadman will take on the role of Demon Vice. Audiences may remember Brontë as Cinderella in 2017 and from her recent appearance in Ground Rules.
Newcomer Liam Watson will play Jack Goose. An acting graduate and experienced stage performer, Liam has played Peter Pan for Little Wolf Theatre and recently starred in Turning the Screw in London. Megan Prior joins as Priscilla Goose and ensemble, having recently graduated in Musical Theatre.
Actor-musicians Andrew Wheaton (Squire Squeezum) and Daniella Agredo-Piper (Jill Squeezum) will provide live music as part of their roles, a hallmark of our pantos. Both have extensive stage experience, including roles in classics like King Lear and Twelfth Night.
The cast will be accompanied by a support cast, which this year includes Alice Rock, Chloe Hillman, Emma Hutchings, Maia Hunter-Guest, Mazey Rogers, Melissa Charles, Milly Paulley, Rosie Henson, and Ruby Wheadon.
Mother Goose has been written by James Barry and Robin Belfield, with music by Simon Slater and directed by Robin Belfield. Completing the creative team are Rachel Fox (Producer and Designer) and Sam Taylor-Martin (Choreographer and Assistant Director). Tom Attwood returns as Musical Director.
The story of Mother Goose follows a woman who strikes it rich thanks to a magical goose that lays golden eggs. However, she learns a valuable lesson when she trades her good fortune for youth and beauty, only to fight to win back her true happiness. This classic tale will be brought to life with jokes, original songs, live music, and plenty of audience participation.
Produced by Play to the Crowd, Mother Goose runs from 30 November 2024 to 5 January 2025. Don’t miss this fun-filled family adventure!
